The Press Team are hard at work in the Journo Room producing the final session newspaper and video ready for Closing Ceremony tomorrow. This is our 5th newspaper and 3rd video for the session thanks to the hard work of the Editors and Journos.
Both the videos and newspapers will be available online soon!
This evening EuroConcert took place at the Dr. Hochs Konservatorium in Frankfurt. Eoin and Ruxandra from the Press Team kept the audience amused in between the fantastic musical performances by delegates and officials from across Europe with their witty Franter! They even managed to impress certain members of the audience enough to receive an invitation to the HSS Christmas Party in Berlin in December!
Well done to all the performers (including Maarja from our Press Team) and of course to Eoin and Ruxandra for presenting!
The Committee on Culture are trying to bring the basics of internet in a secure environment for all European citizens. You might think that the internet is a simple subject, but since there are not really any legal bases for internet, controlling and restricting isn’t the easiest thing. That’s why CULT went for a clear informing resolution to help and protect the inhabitants of Europe. Good to know that your internet your internet you’re using now is going to a be a better and safer place.
The Committee on Industry Research and Energy had a tough resolution to solve; deciding upon and outlining an ideal framework for scientific research and innovation within Europe. Their discussion has covered many aspects of the problem such as financial limitations, education schemes and scientific and governmental bodies. Despite this they are extremely hard working… and they know how to party hard too! It’s break time just now and they are currently dancing round the Committee room rapping to Czech hip hop at the top of their voices… Keep up the good work ITRE and I am confident you will be successful during GA!
ENVI I went treasure hunting around Frankfurt yesterday night ending at ‘Chicago Meatpackers’, where we had the traditional committee dinner. Completely full up with burgers, steaks and ribs we are looking forward to the last day of Committee Work and resolution typing…
Fifteen completed resolutions have now been submitted by the committees at the 64th International Session of the European Youth Parliament to the session board. The resolutions on topics from scientific research cooperation in Europe to social exclusion will be debated in General Assembly this Friday and Saturday in the Paulskirche. The hard work now begins to get the resolutions formatted and typed over night ready for the delegates to start preparing for GA. Good luck Chairs!
Today the 64th International Session of the European Youth Parliament was officially opened by Session President Krista Simberg at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center. The event was followed by World Café, where twenty experts lead discussions with groups of EYP delegates and local students on key European issues. The Session Press Team covered both these events and will be publishing a special feature newspaper on the World Cafe towards the end of the week.
Yesterday’s Teambuilding was held outdoors in a local park and everyone came back a little bit sunburned but smiling. EuroVillage, as always, lived up to expectations and the delegates really went to a great effort to showcase all their national culinary delights. One of the highlights was definitely the French table that made their own crepes, trés bien! I also was a big fan of the Belgian waffles, and Irish smoked salmon, though not together obviously. We also saw the first video contribution from the Press-team last night, which went down really well and is up on the blog for you guys to enjoy aswell. The journos put in a huge effort to that video and we’re delighted that everyone seemed to enjoy it. Last night also saw the world premiere of the official session song written and performed by the very talented Orga Rian Stipp and the video which showcased the Orgas…unique dancing skills. The first of the sessions parties followed and left us in no doubt that everyone is going to have a great time in Frankfurt!
The first issue of FRANTICS – The Frankfurt Antics (and yes, we love the title) was published yesterday aswell and is available online for you to enjoy. Any comments or questions you have on it are more than welcome and should be sent to frankfurtpressroom@gmail.com aswell as any articles that anyone would like to contribute to the newspaper. We would love to hear what you have to say!
Keep checking back to see more updates, articles and comments!
